About this work

The starting point of this piece was the exploration of simple, monochromatic surfaces and the atmosphere they can create. The deliberate use of bold palette knife textures in the foreground resulted in a richly detailed surface that reveals countless subtle elements up close while maintaining a calm and harmonious overall impression from a distance.
